We'll be leaving for Guangzhou, China tomorrow morning and I still have errands to do but I just wanted to say thank you for all the ladies we met in Jakarta during our 3 months 'holiday' and for all the beautiful memories we had shared. I'll cherish them forever! I'm kinda sad to leave but our new adventure has been calling and I'm super excited to venture out there.

I probably won't be able to get online for awhile but I'll be back LOL.

Take care all!

PS: Instead of making a new blog, I'll just put it here...I'm gonna be super extra busy until our trip to China next week so please please forgive me if I can't reply to each and every one of your postings. Please, remember that I do care and I am so thankful for all the friendships I have here.

Su Fei goes around Beijing, asking Chinese people what their English names are, and why they need them.

Found this video and I think it's hillarious. Hmmm...maybe I will need a Chinese name when I get there.

Blog EntryA Little WorriedJun 9, '08 6:49 AM
for everyone

As the time to finally go to Guangzhou, China (GZ) really coming fast, I start to get nervous again.

One expatriate lady from the States has been writing such a great insightful blog about living in GZ and from her stories of everyday lives there I could get a clearer picture of how it’s going to be. I even learnt about that machine to sterilize the dishes LOL. Here’s a picture that my husband took using his cell phone (I brought all the digital cameras with me, sorry hun!). From what I read in the blog this machine uses 120 minutes worth of UV light to kill any germs on the dishes so after you do the dishes (manually) you suppose to put them in this thing. Intersting, huh? I never seen anything like this my whole life.

From her blog, I also learn about how poor the air quality there because of pollution and it really makes me worried about Alexander’s health. Jakarta is very polluted as well and he’s been sick like twice already with a really bad cold since we got here. His coughing was bad but thanks God there was no wheezing episode. I did took him to see a pediatrician here and he said due to his bronchiolitis, whenever he catches a cold his cough will sounds that bad. Will I be able to take him out for a walk in the park like we used to do back in States? Will the pollution makes his bronchiolitis comes back? We’ll definitely need to get an air purifier machine to put in the apartment. I’ll tell hubby to check & ask about it there.

Hubby plans to take 3 days off of work so he could come and pick us up in Jakarta then we’ll fly to GZ together (ehm…excuse to bring more stuffs in the luggage!). I’m being paranoid too about how my first day will be there if he has to go back to work right away and I’ll be home alone with Alexander. The apartment complex looks really nice and I would love to explore it with Alexander, yet I wonder if they have any signs in English. It would be bad to wonder off and get lost inside the complex LOL.

I’m sure we’ll have a grand adventure living in GZ and exploring all the new cultures and the great food (been hearing lots of good reviews about the Schezuan food) despite of all the small worries I have in my heart.

Blog EntrySuggestions NeededApr 29, '08 1:05 AM
for everyone

Following my previous blog about Multiply being banned in China, I have no other choice but to have a so-called back up plans. Can you recommend any good blogging website that's easy to use? I don't really like Friendster's blog. I know it's close to impossible to find another website that gives you stuffs like Multiply has to offer. I would especially miss the way you can set who can view your blog, photos, etc here on Multiply.

Thank you!

Blog EntryMultiply is banned in China????!!!!Apr 24, '08 11:05 AM

As some of you already know, we'll be moving to China soon. My husband is already in Guangzhou, China and he just told me that the Chinese government had banned Multiply among many other websites there (YouTube is also banned!)

Now is there any computer savy out there who could shine some lights in my dim future of living in China? I'd be so devastated if I can't get on here.

Alexander and I will be flying to Jakarta first and spend some times with my parents and family there before we join my husband in China. Can't wait to meet my family again but also it's hard to leave. :(

for everyone

There’s going to be a huge change in our lives.

Why? How? No…no…no…we’re not expecting a baby! We’ll be moving to China next month. Yes China! My husband got a new job in Guangzhou, China.

I will be flying to Jakarta with Alexander first until every thing is settled in Guangzhou then we’ll join my husband there.

I’d still get online but I might not be able to spend as much time on Multiply as I used to due the moving process, so much to do so little time. It's going to be exciting to have this experience in our lives but I'm quite nervous especially when it comes to the language barrier. I don't speak mandarin or cantonese LOL.

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know.

Take care & enjoy your weekend!  And Happy Easter!
